From Pakistan: Himalayan Salt Crystal Candle Holder

Screen Shot 2015-07-10 at 1.16.04 PM
This Natural Himalayan Salt Crystal Candle Holder is hand carved from the highest quality Himalayan salt crystals.
It gives a very romantic, soft, warm light and it’s very heavy so not easily tipped.

Salt lamps are natural negative ion generators and help improve air quality. When the candle is lit and becomes heated, negative ions are released into the air, this is said to purify the air, reduce stress and depression and help relieve symptoms of asthma, sinus irritation and allergies.

Negative ions occur more often in nature and they are often created by things like lightening storms, sunlight, waterfalls, and ocean waves. This is one of the reasons people often report feeling renewed or refreshed after a storm or at the beach.

Positive ions are often created by electronic devices like computers, TVs, microwaves, and even vacuum cleaners and can often exacerbate problems like allergies, stress and sleep trouble. Negative ions can neutralize positive ions and help cleanse the air.

Since things like airborne mold, bacteria, and allergens often carry a positive charge, they can be neutralized by negative ions.

I bought it through The Animal Rescue Site, an organization that provides food and vital care for some of the eight million unwanted animals given to shelters every year in the U.S., as well as animals in desperate need around the world.

Over four million animals are put to death every year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted. Each purchase provides food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary.

With this purchase I funded 14 bowls of food for shelter animals.

  1. This is amazing!
I had no idea about the ions, but that makes perfect sense. I’d love to learn more about that.
And it’s so cool that you bought one while benefiting the animals. I’ve been looking into salt lamps recently so this couldn’t have come at a better time!
    Very cool read.
